Sorry I have been late in posting this blog but life is just so demanding sometimes. We spent last week "fluffing" the shop and it looks really good. It had been some time since I had taken everything down and completely overhauled everything. We have new projects on the wall and the kits that go with them. We moved the batiks into their own corner and brought the homespuns out front. Plus Elly's fabric arrived and it is on top of cabinets by the cutting table. That fabric has been selling like crazy just as we knew it would. We now have all the "needle art" together up front and for all you punch needle enthusiasts, we have some great new patterns and more on the way!!!! Also arriving last week is a great kid's collection called Animal Farm. Great bright colors and some printed squares for easy piecing with great animals. Gina's is working on a sample and we will have that up in a few days. Grandma's this is a great project for a toddler's new room or just a fun throw for a special someone.

Ann's beginners got underway last week and so new people are joining our ranks or getting better at this work we love. Lou Ann's kaleidescope class finished last night and the work those gals did was unbelievable. Ann still has her weavings class and the crazy class coming up. Plus Lou Ann has two openings in the pineapple class and several openings in the cobblestones class. Both of these teachers are top notch and a wonderful experience spending time with them.

The big news is our Anniversary Sale next week. Everything in the front of the store is 25% off. Plus in the classroom we will have the tables brimming with all kinds of goodies at unbelievable prices. This event will celebrate my 4th year in business. I can't believe that it has been that long and then it seems like I have been at this forever--oh yeah, that's right I have been at this forever.

We are getting ready for Robyn's visit. For all of you who are signed up, the project will be a Christmas Stocking. This promises to be a wonderful project. and I can't wait to see it. This kind of work is what Robyn really does best.

Thanks to all who came in last week and used the "Code". We will try some more events of this kind in the future.

See you next week and have a HAPPY 4TH.

Just a few more hours and it will be Summer--officially. It seems like it has been Summer for several weeks now. We just got back from the Cumberland Show and what a great time we had. Those gals who belong to the Schoolhouse Quilt Guild are just about the loveliest people you want to meet. The quilts were wonderful and quite a number of them were made by customers of Nutmeg Lodge and represented fabric from our shelves. The vendors were all very nice and a great variety--Antoinette and I especially liked the chocolate vendor. Of coure, the drive up and back is just spectacular and we had a great time all around.

Now that the June shows are behind us we are in the process of totally rearrangeing the entire floor. And also preparing for Elly's fabric that is due this week. There are several packages that arrived while we were in Cumberland and I don't know exactly what is in them so you will have to stop by and check out any new arrivals.

At the Cumberland show, Punch Needle was again the craze and we sold out of all our supplies, again. We got notice last week from another designer of some new patterns, so we will be getting in some new designs to keep you going.

One more thing of interest, to all who read the blog, come in this week and mention Code 672 and you will receive 20% off any regular priced fabric cut at the cutting table. Remember say the Code number and get extra savings for all who read the blog. Now that is pretty special isn't it?

Looking forward to seeing you this week.

The weather has been so summer-like, it is hard to believe that we still have another week before it is official. I have had to work in the yard in all of this, and it has been a real relief to come inside and do some quilting. I finished Terry Atkinson's new table runner pattern and it really is so quick and easy. We now have a sample, so come in and check it out. Make up in some of Robyn's fabric, it is so crisp for a summer table. I also made the Hidden Star pattern from Quilt Country. Anothe great project and a really fun technique. Again, we now have a sample so you will want to check on this one as well.

Antoinette and I will be going to Cumberland on Thursday to set up for the show. We have fliers at the shop for directions. This is a great show and one you don't want to miss, plus the drive across the five mountains is always so beautiful and it only takes about an hour and a half.

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Elly's fabric. It should be here this week. We will call those on the list when it does arrive and for those of you who have ordered fat quarter bundles, we will be cutting them as soon as the bolts arrive.

See you at the show or in the shop soon!!!!

I am still catching my breath from the QU show and the Lion King--what a full weekend. The show was wonderful. Those QU quilters do some wonderful work. All of the vendor's booths were full of great things. It was nice to catch up with old friends. We have done this show long enough and in the same spot that it is like returning to an old neighborhood. Of course, it was great to see all of you who made the show. Coming up next will be the Cumberland show, weekend after next. We have fliers at the shop to show you how to get there
We will be busy getting ready for that show since we sold out of several things.

The excitement this week will be awaiting the arrival of Elly's fabric. If you are not on the list to be notified, let us know.

Punch needle was all the rage at the QU show. Antoinette and I did many demos and turned a lot of people onto this great needle art. If yo haven't checked this out yet, come in soon and do so. We love to do it, it is so easy and fun.

Just arrived this week are those cute Barrels of Fun. Another fun and easy project, perfect for a quick gift. Come in and take a look.

Saturday will be Sampler day so get busy and finish up those blocks. The June Santa is also ready--he is really cute.

Look forward to seeing you soon.

Grab your purse and put on your walking shoes--the Chantilly Show will open on Friday and you don't want to miss a minute of it. We have been so busy getting everything packed and ready to go set up tomorrow. I can't believe how much stuff we have. We have a lot of new things that a lot of you have never seen and nothing that we have for sale at the shop. The booth is going to be so full that it will probably resemble a booth at some exotic bazaar. I am sure that there will be few other booths with more in it. Antoinette and I will be eager to see you on Friday. If you can't make it until Saturday you will be greeted by Antoinette and Judy. I will be off to Baltimore to see The Lion King. I will be back in the booth on Sunday. Again, I urge all of you to try and make the show---if you have never been you really need to check it out. There is not a better show around. If you have been in year's past, then you know this is something you don't want to miss.

For all the applique enthusiasts--Elly's fabric should be shipping next week. If you have not put your name on the list to be notified, just call the shop and add your name. There are 75 pieces and we will be doing fat quarter bundles for all who want to indulge themselves.

We checked the list for Robyn's class today and we have 2 openings. If you are still interested now is the time to sign up.

I will give you an update on the Chantilly show on Sunday, Until then, happy quilting. .
