What a busy week coming up---I am making lists of my lists. I don't want to forget a thing and I especially don't want any of you to forget.

First, a new month and new club meetings and this week is Willing Hands. I am so excited, I have the mystery quilt finished for everyone to see. I really love the way it turned out.

Second, our big bus trip is on Friday. This is really exciting. The album quilts at the Lovely Lane Methodist Church in Baltimore are a rare exhibit. We have 33 people signed up for the trip--the bus will hold 55, so if you can make it, we still have room. Call or stop by to get on board. Price is $40.00 and that includes your admission to the show. There is also a box lunch available for $7.00. The bus will leave Nutmeg Lodge at 10:00 a.m. and return by 4:00 p.m.

And that brings me to Three. MARKET REVIEW. As I have mentioned before, we have so much stuff you won't believe all the new and wonderful books, patterns, notions and just plain great stuff. This great event will start at 5:30 on Friday, Nov. 4 and there really are a lot of great surprises in store for everyone attending. I can't stress enough that you really don't want to miss this event.

All the fabric we ordered from Market is also exciting. I will go into more detail at Market Review and will update you about this more in the future.

Next week I will be off to teach a week long class on the Underground Railroad quilt. This is an Elder Hostel event. I have my samples ready and I am looking forward to making some new friends and teaching a piecing class. I don't do this very often any more and it will be a nice change.

Looking forward to seeing everyone this week. Barbara

It is that time of year when new products are flying through the door--we are having trouble keeping it all contained until Market Review. Our excitement can hardly be contained with all the new and wonderful things we have in store for everyone. You really don't want to miss out on our "famous" Market Review party. It really is famous, it was written up in one of the premier trade magazines for quilt shops. At any rate, make sure your calendars are marked for Friday, November 4, 5:30 p.m. We will not only have loads of new books, patterns and notions, but great food as well. I will have lots of news to share and several really fabulous surprises.

All the new fabric is scrumptious and next year's projects really will be exciting. Of course, there still are several great collections to arrive this year that we ordered at Spring Market. Stopping in and checking everything out regularly really is the thing to do. Besides, you never know when you might happen to find a really great deal going on.

The new web site is getting a lot of attention. Don't forget to tell your friends to stop by for a visit--now that the blog is visible on the front web page, it really is easy to get all the latest news. Just a reminder of the address: www.nutmeglodge.com. Looking forward to seeing you there--talk to everyone later, Barbara

It is almost time to turn back the clocks. The mums are bursting forth and trees are beginning to show their colors. Fall really is my favorite time of year--the rich hues prepare our souls for Winter and the cold in the air really makes one want to make more quilts.

Last week we received the new Kyle's Marketplace. 21 fruits and vegetables plus bread, desserts, pasta and spices. There are mixed vegetables, mixed fruits, nuts, cheese and salad. This collection really will grace any kitchen or buffet. Come in and be inspired.
We also received a wonderful collection of pastels in stripes and dots. A perfect collection for a little one.

I was looking around today and see that we have a few Halloween panels left as well as some of the Autumn fabrics and kits. Come in this week and say BOO and you can have those items marked with a B for 50% off. Remember to say BOO to who ever is working --I promise they won't be scared, just happy to ring you up a big savings.

There still are a few seats on the bus trip to Baltimore. If you are interested in seeing those lovely old quilts from the mid-1800's, join us for a journey back in time. We will leave the shop at 10:00 on a large coach complete with bathroom. We will return by 4:00 p.m. A box lunch will be available. Cost: $40.00 which includes admission to the show. Lunch: $7.00. Date: Friday, November 4.

November 4 is also our Market Review Party. We will have lots of excitement for that one and I have a few surprises for everyone who attends. You really don't want to miss out on a fun-filled day.

Looking forward to seeing you soon--Barbara

For all who were able to attend the Fall Fling, thank you--we had a very busy and fun week. That wonderful line from Whimsicals is almost gone, it sure hit a great note with a lot of people. I am sure that everyone enjoyed the rain, it seemed kind of strange to have so many days in a row with no sun. Of course, you know we will all be getting behind the lawn mowers any day now. With all the snow out West, we can all look forward to cooler temps and finally cold weather soon. I have been busy putting the finishing stitches into the Santa blocks and will be working to put them all together soon. We should have then up for display by the first week of November.

Speaking of the first week of November--I am planning a bus tour to Baltimore to view the album quilts that will be on display at the Lovely Lane Methodist Church. The tour will be Friday, November 4. The bus will leave Nutmeg Lodge at 10:00 a.m. and return around 4:00 p.m. The cost will be $40.00 which will include admission to the show. We will also be taking orders for a box lunch, approximate cost $7.00. If you are interested, please call the shop to get your name on the list. We have room for 55 attendees and the number is at 30. Also, please drop by or mail your check for $40.00 to guarantee your spot.

As most of you know by now the web site is up and operating. As I have suggested previously, put www.nutmeglodge.com on your Favorites list and then it is easy to get to the web site. You will then be able to view this blog right on the front page of the site without going to the blog site. Can't get easier that that!!! Kathy has been very busy getting things so beautifully in place and we now have pictures of all the staff with the exception of Marcy. We will take care of that soon. Kathy has done a great job and I am so happy to have her talents working for Nutmeg Lodge.

We have a large box of fabric waiting to be checked in. I have no idea what is in it so come in soon and check it out. We can all be surprised together.

I look forward to seeing you soon. Barbara

What an exciting week!! The best thing all week was the fabric from Whimsicals. I was so happy with it, I rushed home and made up the most wonderful Turning Twenty. The only thing, I used 16 fat quarters so we are calling it Sweet Sixteen. Come in and check it out. The perfect throw size and a wonderful "guy" quilt. If you have men on your Christmas list, this is the perfect solution. And great for any age. We have great samples of all the new fabric that has come in the last few weeks and great ideas for everyone's list. We also received the Laurel Birch tapestry. Those cats really look good on the heavy fabric. I have made it up in a simple jacket--I can't wait for the weather to get a little cooler to wear it. Bags, pillows, vests and jackets will all look wonderful with this fabric.

Beginning Monday we will be hosting our Fall Fling Sale. Don't get left behind with all the bargains. This is the perfect time to get those Christmas lists ready and come in to stock up on everything you need for Christmas quilts, stockings, decorating touches and the perfect gift for the quilter on your Christmas list. Also, don't forget we have the file box for you to fill out all of the things that you have your eye on. When your family comes in we can point out all the items you want plus a great Nutmeg Lodge gift certificate.

If you haven't checked out www.nutmeglodge.com do so right now. You will be able to access the blog right from the web site. Put in on your Favorites List and tell all your friends.

See you at the shop this week.
