NOTES FROM THE LODGE Sunday, January 27, 2008
A great week at Nutmeg Lodge--I hope your week was great as well. We have been busily getting the Saturday Sampler, Blocks of the Month and Club fabric up to speed. Thanks to everyone for making 2008 a great success at Nutmeg Lodge. Your overwhelming participating in so many different programs really makes our life a lot of fun!!!
A new staff note!!! WELCOME to Patty Wilmoth---our newest addition to the staff is working on Thursdays with March on a regular basis and will be rotating and filling in for other staffers as as demand of business requires. If you do not know Patty you are in for a treat---a great addition to the already outstanding staff at Nutmeg Lodge everyone will enjoy being in the shop when she is here.
Bus Trip update--we are low on numbers for the trip. If you have not decided or know someone who would enjoy this great trip pass along the word. If we do not have enough sign ups we will have to, unfortunately cancel the trip. We still have a week or two to make that decision.
SUPER BOWL SUNDAY---as in year's past we will be celebrating Super Bowl Sunday with our own event. Next Sunday, February 3 from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. we will be celebrating the once-a-year event with 25% off red, white, and blue fabric, 25% off, red, white and blue thread, 25% off red, white, and blue fat quarters, charms squares, jelly rolls, etc. In other words, 25% off anything that looks like the New England Patriots or New York Giants team colors. Come in and join the fun-filled afternoon. We might also have a few unexpected bargains as well.
See you soon---Barbara

NOTES FROM THE LODGE Sunday, January 20, 2008
Actually I am writing this on Saturday so I hope your accounting is not too stringent. A blog a day early is not a bad thing. I am sitting at my desk at the shop because our paper piecing class is in full swing and they ladies are having a ball. Kelly is a teacher by profession and has developed a love for paper piecing and I haven't heard anyone using their seam ripper yet!!! Classes are off to a big start for 2008. I mentioned this before, if there is a class that you are interested and your choices are full, let us know and we will start or add you to a list and will get a second class going.
Clubs are also in full swing---we try not to close a club to anyone although occasionally we need to do so because of space and/or fabric availability for kits. We still have openings but a couple of clubs are getting close to closing. If you have a club you have been thinking about and have not yet joined, you might want to consider joining soon so as not to miss out on all the fun.
Just a reminder on our bus trip---next Friday is our "deadline". If you are considering this fun adventure, don't delay. I do have a limit to how many people we can take.
We have several new samples up that might be of interest. I spoke with my Moda rep on Friday about sidewinders---they are scheduled for delivery sometime after Feb. 1. I had 12 on order, have increased my order by 24 more but the number of shipment in Feb. is almost sold out so who knows when we will get more. If you have not yet put your name on a list---now might be a good. Also if you want us to notify you, call and get your name on that list also.
Have a great week---stay warm, happy and productive. Barbara

NOTES FROM THE LODGE Sunday, January 13, 2008
The first two weeks of the year and we are getting into the full swing of all the programs we run at Nutmeg Lodge. Yesterday was the first Saturday Sampler of the year and boy did we ever have a lot of people turning out to get in on this fun-filled event. Just a reminder to everyone---we always have the sample up for you to look at and Kathy has taken pictures for the website so that you can refer to that as well if you need a refresher on what it looks like. We will see you next month, Feb. 9 for block Two.
We have had three club meetings and everyone is excited about the projects for 2008. If you have not joined a club yet, there is still room in all of our clubs--don't miss out on the fun. Each of our clubs is full of lively, fun quilters. We have pictures of all the projects for 2008 up on the wall for you to see. And, you can join more than one club!!!!
We are also getting ready to start classes---a couple of classes are full already but there is still room in a number of them. If you find that the class you wanted is full, we will take your name and get a new class formed. We have samples of most of the club projects on the wall for you to see. Stop by and check them out.
Now that we have had all that sale stuff going on, it is time to get back to normal. I will be busy this week getting things rearranged and making the shop look new and fluffy. We have received several new things in the last few days that will be going out for display. A new patriotic group from Sandy Gervais with a funky flag theme. Also we will put all the Valentine fabric out--some charm packs, a fun panel and great pieces to make some fun projects for yourself or one who pulls your heart strings.
Don't forget to check your calendar for the bus trip!! There are still openings. See you soon---Barbara

NOTES FROM THE LODGE January 6, 2008
Things are off to a really BIG start for this new year. Our 7th Annual Winter Sale is in full swing and will continue through this week. Remember 25% off store-wide on all the things you need to get started on your projects for 2008. Even though we had a lot of shoppers in last week, there are still plenty of things for you to stock up on. Don't forget that all of our blocks-of-the-months, Saturday Sampler, and several of our club projects require you to purchase your background fabric. This is an excellent opportunity to get the needed yardage for a year-long activity.
Even though so many of you have signed up for clubs, there are still openings in all of our clubs. If you need a refresher on the many different clubs we offer, check out the Club Button at the top of the page. Also, we have many classes running this quarter---you can get all the lowdown on our classes on the Class Button. You can also register by mail, phone, email or in person.

I thought that with the price of gas and knowing that a number of guilds around were not planning a trip, that Nutmeg Lodge could sponsor an event to allow a lot of people to enjoy a wonderful event. If you have friends or guild members that you think might be interested let them know. We are looking forward to this fun-filled day.
See you this week, Barbara
