NOTES FROM THE LODGE Sunday, July 13, 2008

What a great weekend in Bridgeport---a small, but impressive show. The quilters from Bridgeport/Clarksburg and a very talented group of needle artists. The other vendors were all delightful as they were last year. The best part of a show like this is that it really gives me a chance to spend time with other shop owners and share ideas. Karen Montgomery from The Quilt Company in Pittsburgh was the teacher/lecturer. She and her side kick Debbie were delightful. Our booths were next to each other and we had dinner together on Saturday. A really great time to spend time together, laugh and share ideas.

Now next is Morgantown. This is the annual meeting of the West Virginia Quilt guild. If you are a West Virginia quilt maker, you should think about joining this group. I value my membership--it is nice to be part of a state-wide group. My friend with The Quilt Connection will be vending at this show also, if you come out to Morgantown I look forward to seeing you.

And then comes Quilt Odyssey. We are really gearing up for this one. Robyn will be a teacher and our booth will be a Robyn Pandolph experience. New, never seen patterns, new fabric, and a number of patterns that have never been published. I will also have a number of other new things---please don't walk by without stopping in the booth. I really can guarantee that you won't be disappointed with the offerings and the bargains.

Once again I am asking for your help----my Rotary Club is sponsoring an international effort that is aimed at providing eye glasses for much less fortunate people who do not have the availability of eye professional services and/or eye glasses. If you have old eye glasses that do not need repair, please bring them to Nutmeg Lodge. As I stated, my Rotary is gathering and sending them to the organization that runs the program. Right now this program is available in Mexico and their plans are to bring the program to other countries around the globe in need of such help.

I will be out-of-town from Wed. through Sat. and on Friday and Saturday, the mice have decided to play. Don't miss the fun involved when Judy and Marcy put their magic to work.

See you at the Show!!!!!! Barbara
