NOTES FROM THE LODGE Sunday, July 20, 2008
Home again, Home again---I have run up and down the road so much and still one more trip to make!!!! The West Virginia Show was fun---I really had a ton of laughs and met a lot of nice people. The quilts in the show were wonderful. There were a couple that were down right awesome and there was the Alzheimer's exhibit. This was the most stirring exhibit I have ever seen and everyone said the same thing. Reading the descriptions was impossible, looking at the subjects was very difficult. A very tearful experience!
Now it is full steam ahead to Hershey. Nutmeg Lodge has a whole new booth and the work to get ready for this has been tremendous. Everyone at the shop has been working so hard to get everything ready. I hope you will stop by and say hello and take a look---it really is a whole new booth.
Robyn arrives Tuesday night and will be teaching at Quilt Odyssey and will also be in the booth to sign patterns, etc. Our friend Brenda Hayes will be arriving next week and will be in the shop if you would like her to sign your Flirtatious pattern. So much going on that I am constantly checking my calendar to make sure I am where I am supposed to be.
News from Nutmeg Lodge is just as exciting. The girls have come up with yet another great program. BYOB. This is a phrase that will surely get your attention. In an attempt to go GREEN, we are instituting a BYOB program. Here is how it works---Bring Your Own Bag to the shop and receive 3% off your purchase. That's right, if you bring your Nutmeg Lodge bag or a bag of your choice, we will discount your purchase 3%. This is our effort to cut down on the number of bags we purchase and ultimately goes into the trash. Judy and Marcy started the program on Friday and everyone seemed very happy with the savings.
The mice were playing this past Friday and Saturday and since I am once again away this coming Friday and Saturday---you guessed it---the mice will be playing again. I have it on good authority that they have something extra up their sleeve. If you are not in Hershey, be sure and stop by to see what fun is going on at Nutmeg Lodge. Barbara
