NOTES FROM THE LODGE Sunday, July 27, 2008
Back from Hershey!!!! Wow!!!! What a show!!!!! The attendance numbers were huge and way over the past years---28 buses in all came from all over, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Kentucky, Tennessee, of course, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania, Ohio and Illinois. The shopping was insane--all of the vendors that I know said their numbers were outstanding. Nutmeg Lodge really knocked it out of the park--the Harper's Ferry flew out of the booth as well as Robyn's patterns and fabric, Brenda's pattern sold out early. It was an outstanding show and I am exhausted. But there is still much to do.
Robyn is here all week and our friend Brenda arrives tomorrow. We will actually be doing work on upcoming projects for Robyn's new fabric line with RJR but we are planning a very special day on Wednesday. Robyn and Brenda will be at the shop all day 10:00 to 6:30. You can come in to visit, see the new fabric that will be introduced at Fall Market, get your patterns, blocks, quilts, etc. autographed and visit with both of my friends. You can also receive a discount on your purchases and a few other goodies that we will have as a surprise for you.
This event will take the place of our Album Club meeting on Thursday and our Willing Hands meeting next week.
I'm feeling that there are things that I am leaving out but I will update the blog later if I think of them.
Don't forget that we are accepting eye glasses in good condition for the project my Rotary Club is running. Please hunt through the dresser drawers to see if you still have pairs that no longer are useful to you. These glasses are extremely important to people in third world countries where they have no access to good eye refraction and glasses. Thank you for your help.
Looking forward to seeing you at the shop this week. Barbara
