NOTES FROM THE LODGE Sunday, September 21, 2008

Back from Retreat!! What a great weekend. Our project this year was One Block Wonder. The gals at retreat really stepped up to the plate and knocked it out of the park!!! Only a couple attendees did not do the project but of all the people sewing their project quilts, each one was more amazing that the next. Everyone went home with the tops either finished or almost. Kathy took pictures and I will have our Kathy to put them on the web site as soon as I get them. You really need to see these lovely projects. As usual we had a blast, fun, food, laughs, etc. there was plenty to go around.

I have decided to run two more retreats in 2009. Both of these will be hand-oriented and will focus on applique and album-style quilts. I will be posting more about this in the very near future. If you have any interest in participating in a very concentrated, 3-day event in January and learn the art of needleturn applique and constructing your own heirloom, let me know and I will put you on the list.

Beginning Tuesday, we will be sewing stockings for the Women's Club. Stop by, sew a stocking, receive a $1.00 coupon and then enjoy the new fabric that has arrived along with a number of new panels and samples.

Just one year ago we were embarking on our adventure down the street and around the corner. It hardly seems like a year has passed and yet I feel we have been in this space a very long time. Thanks to each of you who have made this year a great one, thanks also to all who have "put Nutmeg Lodge on the map" so to speak. It has been my joy and pleasure to offer you the finest in quilting fabric and supplies. It has been my delight to know so many of you. And, it has been my blessing to have my staff help in in all of this. Thanks to Judy, Marcy, Cathy, Patty, Kelly and Debi for being the wind beneath my wings. Thanks to everyone who walks through our doors for being our inspiration and our joy.

Barbara
