NOTES FROM THE LODGE Sunday, October 26, 2008

For some reason, this week seemed really long, and yet it flew by---go figure. After doing the show last week, it seemed that I hit the ground running for the past week. A machine quilting class, several club meetings and other exiting stuff. If you haven't checked out the class schedule, do so soon. We have another machine quilting class coming up this week with a couple of openings. Also a finishing class this week as well. Don't miss out on this great technique class. If you have never had a class in how to finish your quilt, then you really owe this to yourself. If you have a class with someone else, you might want to consider this class. I always say that there is something to learn from everyone and I probably bring a couple of things to the table that might be new for you and, perhaps, something that you had not learned before.

This time next week, we will have officially turned our clocks back. Now really is time to get cracking on those Christmas projects--tick tock. I know this is a broken record, but panels are such a quick and easy gift. Even if you are shopping elsewhere for larger, more expensive presents--a panel tucked in your other gifts will make the recipient feel really special.

I spent today working on the Christmas House for Mainstreet Martinsburg's Snowflake Village. Stay tuned for more information on this---if you live in or around Martinsburg, you are in for a treat downtown this Holiday season. If you are out-of-town, you really will want to make the trip up one evening to see all the beautiful decorations and experience a real old-fashioned Christmas.

In addition to new fabrics, we have some great new books. And, FYI, we have some great ideas for Black Friday---stay tuned for more on this.

Barbara
