NOTES FROM THE LODGE Sunday, July 26, 2009

Where has the summer gone? Is it really the end of July? Soon the school buses will be back on the road and the next thing you know the leaves will be turning gold and red. Here in Martinsburg our new shopping center opened this weekend. There is a Target, Bed Bath & Beyond and Michaels. There are other things coming but those are the ones that are opened so far. I stopped by Michaels on Saturday and was delighted to see the big section they have for quilters/sewers. I picked up a new needle safe--those little magnetized case that holds your needles securely--I had lost my last one. They have a huge selection of rotary cutters, blades and mats--remember they have those great coupons when you need to shop. They have basting spray, a large selection of pins and a great selection of scissors. Don't forget that Rachael Shaw at Shaws Sew & Vac on Winchester Ave. has Gutterman Thread. So the good news is that even though Nutmeg Lodge is gone there are still quality selections of basic notions available to you.

This is Quilt Odyssey week. I know that a number of you are going--have a great time. If I get to make the trip, I might see you there.

The other thing--if any of you are on Facebook--let's be friends. Barbara
