NOTES FROM THE LODGE Sunday, August 2, 2009

I know that too many are looking at the blog but I do have some good information for you. First of all, to everyone who made it to Hershey sure hope you enjoyed the show. I did not get there. I thought about going but to make the trip by myself when I wasn't in the mood to shop for quilting supplies did not seem worth the effort. I could have helped out in some one's booth but I didn't thing I wanted to go and work either. At any rate there is always next year.

Rachel Shaw of Shaw's Sew & Vac has some exciting news. She is adding fabric. Yes, that's right fabric is coming to Martinsburg. She will be stocking a limited amount of fabric--basics, wide backings, batting to help you finish any all of your projects. For embroiders and photo transfer people, she will be stocking stabilizers and muslin--both regular and 200 thread count. Among the fabrics she is planning on carrying, RJR, Moda, Quilt Treasures (Marie Osmond). She also has two AQS editions for $425.00. These machines are like the Janome 760 with a few less stitches but still that 12 pound machine. A great machine to take to class, retreats, etc. This is a great price on a wonderful little machine. She only has two of them so don't delay. Shaw's Sew & Vac is located on Winchester Ave (Route 11) just south from Route 9. There are on the right just across the street from Martin and Seibert law firm. Stop in and see all the great machines that Rachel has and be sure and say hi.

Hope your summer is going well. Enjoy the rain!!! Barbara
