NOTES FROM THE LODGE Sunday, June 28, 2009


Where does the time go? The month almost over, the first half of the year almost gone and Nutmeg Lodge will be officially closed in a couple more days. On Wednesday, I have a mover coming to bring the last few things to my basement. It is kind of eerie to me the sequence of events--I think back eight years ago and I was doing the same thing in reverse. Moving things that had accumulated in my house into the space on Wilson Street. As the time as been accomplished since I made the decision in April, things have come together and I am very peaceful about the decision. I do continue to wish each of you well. I went to my 50th high school reunion this weekend. What fun!! I went to Leesburg on Friday afternoon, checked into my hotel, ran into my locker mate from school. The memories started as soon as I arrived. Off to a barbeque that evening and was delighted with all of the fun we had. Saturday we toured our school. My goodness how things have changed. The front of the school looks the same but the additions just boggle the mind. The principle led us through the school and was complimentary about all the things that he had heard about us over the years. We were quite an exemplary class. Then Saturday evening we had a large banquet at the hotel. Again, a lovely evening--cocktails, great food, dancing and a ton of fun!!! I didn't get to my room until almost midnight.

My best advice--if your high school class is having a reunion---by all means go. It is amazing how different classmates are when they are seasoned. I had more than a few surprises.
